Proof Positivity Is Stronger Than Negativity In 140 Characters or Less

{I heard a few years ago when I first started to learn about, and understand, the Law of Attraction, that positive thoughts are infinitely more powerful than negative thoughts.
That when trying to 'think positively' not to worry if the odd negative thought crept in, because one positive thought could counteract hundreds of negative thoughts.
At the time I bought into it, mainly because I hoped that was the case, and on some inexplicable level I felt it was true, but to be honest, I didn't really have evidence if this was the case or not. That is until today!
Negative Self Talk
I've felt a little despondent this week and spent it thinking negatively, mainly about this website and if I was following my true direction. I also doubted whether anyone really wanted to read the articles I was spending hours a day writing.
Thoughts like 'Could I spending my time doing something more constructive' and 'Are my articles really of any benefit to anyone' led to feelings of pessimism and self doubt and lots of negative self talk.
I hadn't gotten to a stage where I was thinking of jacking it all in and going back to my day job, hell, I would need to be forced at gunpoint to venture back into that corporate cauldron of torment and anguish, no I suppose it could be described as 'having a bad week'.
Wow Factor
Nevertheless, I was at least considering moving my career in another direction, which direction exactly I didn't know, but then I awoke this morning and turned on my computer and read this Twitter message from a new follower...
"I've read through some of your blog, and I find it quite inspiring. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Look forward to reading more!"
Wow... 131 characters of pure unadulterated positivity, gratitude and expectation which couldn't have come at a better time. This message wasn't just informative for me; it spoke to me on a deeper level with an inspirational significance which I took as a response to my week long self doubt.
You might think this is just coincidence, or that I read into that message what I wanted to read, but I don't believe in coincidences, I believe in connection to the ether, the universe, whatever you want to call it, and the message spoke to me. Not just on a linear level, like the many messages I receive on Twitter and other social media every day, I FELT the meaning in the message when I read it.
How the person felt that sent the message I'm unsure, maybe she was just being polite, but I felt sincerity in her message, which evaporated my week long self doubt in an instant!
A week of negative self talk and self doubt, dissolved with one positive sensation inspired by a well meaning reader of my blog, I was blown away.
Positivity vs. Negativity
It got me thinking about positivity vs. negativity and I remembered what I had learned long ago about the power in a positive thought. This message had inspired in me a positive reaction which manifested into a positive thought, and that positive thought melted through my negativity like a hot knife through butter.
So for me today, I have been given proof that a positive thought can counteract many negative thoughts, and that positive thoughts are much more powerful than negative thoughts. I always felt this was true, but this is definitive evidence for me.
Take the Time
It's also worth noting that a kind word at the right time can make a huge difference to people's lives, and we should always be aware of others feelings, even if we don't know exactly how they are feeling at the time.
In my case, my now Twitter friend, had no idea of my state of mind when she sent that message, but she still took the time to offer her gratitude and positive interaction which had a ripple effect that brightened my week.
Not only did it brighten my week, it inspired me to continue with my work in the knowledge that I was being of some benefit to another person. I figured that if someone thousands of miles away is reaping some benefit from what I'm doing, it's worth carrying on.
Gratitude
So I would like to say THANKYOU to my twitter friend, and all the other people who take time out of their day to read my articles, I appreciate you all very much!
